Getting Your Analytics Efforts Started Right

Information Technology And Services

Bring together, people, process, and data pipeline for long-term analytics success.

Our wide-eyed fascination with data growth is well-founded. In January 2019, IDC released a white paper, “The U.S. Datasphere: Consumers Flocking to Cloud,” which claimed that the 33ZB (zettabytes) created annually in 2018 would mushroom to 175ZB in 2025. Over that period, growth in image and entertainment data will shrink, but the authors expect massive growth in IoT and productivity data, which will explode from 1 percent to 19 percent and 14 percent to 40 percent, respectively. This is the ever-rising data deluge that will pour into your analytics and AI applications — provided you’re ready to contain and channel it.

More data means more opportunities to discover powerful, actionable insights around customers, internal processes, and the broad market. Unfortunately, legacy IT architectures and approaches can block progressive analytics efforts. In fact, according to McKinsey only 8 percent of companies have been able to productionalize analytics to date.
