Take these steps to make the most of AI and launch a proof of concept

In 2017, The Economist identified how dramatically the world has changed when it reported, “The world’s most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data.” In a recent World Economic Forum survey of approximately 1,300 CEOs, more than 70 percent said they believe they need to lead a radical digitally-led transformation of their business model. The market bears that out with organizations offering the strongest digital leadership capabilities financially outperforming those with the weakest capabilities by a staggering 50 percent.

Those two trends, accelerating change and the growing importance of digital leadership, intersect in one of today’s most transformative innovations—artificial intelligence (AI). In a recent report, Gartner forecasted that by 2020 85 percent of CIOs will pilot artificial intelligence programs through a combination of buy, build, and outsource efforts. Due in part to these efforts, Gartner predicts that approximately 70 percent of organizations will assist their employees’ productivity by integrating AI in the workplace.
