Introduction

Headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, MMC Corp is a holding company with offi ces from New Jersey to Las Vegas. Despite having eight different divisions that handle everything from HVAC installation to general contracting plus operating at 20-60 construction sites at any given time, MMC Corp wanted data and communications from all locations to flow across one network.

MMC Corp network engineer Chris Trusler says the company wanted the connectivity of an Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network “without having to pay what MPLS networks traditionally cost.” They also wanted something MPLS couldn’t provide: the ability to add and remove locations on the network with ease as job sites opened and closed.
